From a research lab
to the world's fields
AIfarmharvest started as a university research project and grew into a global platform.
Research begins at the University of Wageningen
Co-founders Dr. Maya Santos and Elias Kamau publish a landmark paper on machine learning for crop yield prediction, using satellite imagery from 3 continents. It receives 2,400+ citations in two years.
AIfarmharvest incorporated — first pilot farms
Armed with seed funding and a team of 6, we run our first field trial across 12 farms in the Philippines, Brazil, and Kenya. Harvest prediction accuracy reaches 89% — above our target.
Series A — $18M raised to scale globally
With backing from Breakthrough Energy Ventures and AgFunder, we expand to 8 countries and launch our mobile app. The team grows to 40 across 3 continents.
2 million acres milestone — enterprise launch
We cross 2M acres monitored and launch our Enterprise API, bringing AI harvest intelligence to agri-businesses managing thousands of farms at once.
Next chapter: real-time global harvest intelligence
With over 50,000 farmers on the platform and a 96-person team, we're launching real-time harvest intelligence, autonomous irrigation control, and our open research API for academics worldwide.
